Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a full-time Traffic Lead to oversee resourcing, workflow and project management processes for our rapidly growing communications and marketing efforts. The Traffic Lead will optimize the way we get work done and collaborate across all projects and clients to ensure we consistently deliver high quality work on deadline. This collaborative team member will be empowered by executive leadership to carry out duties of the role and will have license to negotiate priorities with project managers, creatives and other essential team members.


In this newly created role, the Traffic Lead will collaborate across project and creative teams to formalize and establish processes and systems to ensure effective workflow, timeline and deadline management for our growing team.


This position requires strong understanding of all types of the full spectrum of physical and digital creative marketing and communication assets, as well as print, out of home, broadcast and digital advertising. The Traffic Lead will have the ability to rapidly develop a deep understanding specific deliverable requirements and timelines.


This senior-level, full-time position is remote flexible, but will have the option to work on-site work at Aptive in Alexandria, Virginia after restrictions are lifted.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to devise an agency-centralized traffic management workflow system.
  • Coordinate and track all project deadlines and deliverables with the project teams.
  • Employ a workflow system tool to enhance visibility into upcoming resource bottlenecks and resolve them before any negative impact.
  • Implement and streamline creative team intake and workflow processes, ensuring efficiency and full staff utilization.
  • Create and maintain a database of specifications for paid media deliverables and other commonly required asset types.
  • Act as the custodian for the traffic management system tools and help to ensure consistent compliance with defined workflow processes.
  • Lead a regular traffic management meeting with PMs and Creative Team to coordinate weekly deliverables.
  • Proactively identify and alert key stakeholders to project conflicts and work to resolve them.
  • Support paid media team to ensure correct assets are trafficked to vendors in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, in communications, marketing, advertising, creative writing or similar.
  • 6-10+ years of experience across marketing and creative project and resource management, collaborating across creative and client facing internal teams.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing work tracking and management processes that work across a wide variety of marketing, advertising, experiential, and/or public relations deliverables.
  • Experience juggling multiple competing priorities to effectively prioritize work based on customer and business needs.
  • Strong understanding of asset types across paid digital and traditional advertising, content marketing and strategic communications.
  • Exceptional people skills and very high EQ, with the ability to collaborate across teams, personalities and work styles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to resolve complex issues quickly and work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings.
  • Strong time management, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
