Aptive is seeking an Editor to ensure high quality, accurate and compliant written communications content and strategies in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate. The candidate must have strong writing, communication and organizational skills to support a federal client. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem-solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience translating complex information into plain language. He/she must be committed to providing superior service, poised in a fast-paced environment and have a positive and flexible attitude. Candidate must thrive in a high pressure, fast paced, executive-level environment and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
This full-time position is primarily located onsite at DHS locations in Washington, DC, though temporary telework will be available during COVID-19. This is a contingent hire position.
The Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) is the science advisor to the Secretary and serves as the research and development arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Established by Congress in 2003, S&T conducts basic and applied research, development, testing and evaluation activities in alignment with the DHS mission. S&T does the science that strengthens the nation’s overall security and develops and transitions the technologies that allow those on the front lines to complete their missions effectively and safely.
