Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking a Content Strategist in support of the Department of Defense (DoD). The ideal candidate must have strong strategic and analytical skills to assess business and user insights.

 

The Content Strategist will create a long-term vision and strategy for content on client internal and external websites. The Content Strategist will work cross-functionally with the UX/UI team, communications team, web administrator, web production team, client stakeholders and others, to deliver seamless user experiences.

 

The Content Strategist will be responsible for developing and maintaining content governance plans, site information architectures, strategy documents, web-specific content, content migration plans, and ensure content is accessible and written to plain language standards.

 

This is a senior-level, full-time remote position. This is a contingent hire position.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the content strategy and information architecture for a large quantity of documentation and communications materials on client platforms.
  • Produces or contributes to content strategy deliverables, such as content models and authoring guidelines/governance models.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX Design team to develop methodologies and understand user needs to define requirements throughout the user experience.
  • Translate complex ideas into understandable concepts that evolve and enhance the online experience.
  • Support facilitation of user and stakeholder interviews.
  • Create new content experiences that meet client vision.
  • Ensure content is clear, easy to understand, and written in plain language.
  • Collaborate with Aptive team to develop content strategy, best practices, and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience leading content strategy for federal clients, ideally in the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area of study. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Active Public Trust security clearance preferred; ability to obtain one required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Demonstrated understanding of content strategy’s role in digital design and development process.
  • Experience managing Content Strategy activities.

Client Information

The Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) (USD(C)) is the Principal Staff Assistant and advisor to the Secretary of Defense for budgetary and financial matters. The Director, Human Capital and Resource Management (HCRM) serves as the principal assistant to the USD(C) for the following responsibilities: provide mission-enabling services to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) (OUSD(C)), including resource management, personnel, facilities, and correspondence control; and manage DoD-wide Financial Management (FM) workforce development.
