Aptive is seeking a dedicated, forward looking Senior Configuration Manager to support digital transformation within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This individual will work with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), VA Central Office (VACO) or the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to support the administration's mission with activities such as: project, product and product line management; moving from waterfall management processes to Agile and Scaled Agile practices; and from stove-piped development, delivery and operations processes to DevSecOps best practices such as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). We are seeking individuals committed to delivering and improving quality services to Veterans. 

A Senior Configuration Manager must have experience and be able to develop, document, and implement detailed plans for ensuring configuration control for IT programs, projects, and tasks.  When issues arise, must be able to identify and implement solutions.  Maintain thorough records and documentation to ensure accurate product builds, part ordering and product and/or software updates. Must be proficient in some or all responsibilities:

• Responsible for configuration management planning 
• Describes provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits 
• Identifies and maintains the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation 
• Responsible for configuration change control 

• Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software 
• Responsible for configuration status accounting 
• Tracks all problems and changes in product documents and software and reports changes and current configuration 
• Responsible for configuration audits 
• Supports audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met by the as-built software 

• Supports software quality assurance process audits 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Management, Math, or Equivalent is required. 
  (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.).  
• 10 years related experience required 
• Must have experience and be able to develop, document, and implement detailed plans for ensuring configuration control for IT programs, projects, and tasks.   

• Must be able to identify and implement solutions to resolve issues.   
• Ability to maintain thorough records and documentation to ensure accurate product builds, part ordering and product and/or software updates. 
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance. 
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 

• Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of Veterans Affairs. 
• Ability to maintain thorough records and documentation to ensure accurate product builds, part ordering and product and/or software updates 

• Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. 
• Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail. 
• Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings. 
• Knowledge of military and Veteran populations.
