Aptive is seeking a dedicated, forward looking Senior Test Engineer to support digital transformation within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This individual will work with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), VA Central Office (VACO) or the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to support the administration's mission with activities such as: project, product and product line management; moving from waterfall management processes to Agile and Scaled Agile practices; and from stove-piped development, delivery and operations processes to DevSecOps best practices such as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). We are seeking individuals committed to delivering and improving quality services to Veterans. 

A Senior Test Engineer must have experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts. Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events. Experience in creating reports.  Tracks problems and reports on errors that are identified.   Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments.  Must have experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures.  Must manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers. Must be proficient in some or all responsibilities:

• Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events.  
• Track’s problems and reports on errors that are identified.    
• Must manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.

• Write or assist in the development of test plants and test procedures  
• Escalate the issues about project requirements (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager / Sr. Test Manager. 
• Develop the test plan for the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan. 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or Other Engineering or Technical Discipline is required. 
  (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)  
• 5 years related experience required. 
• Experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts.  

• Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing.  
• Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments.    
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance. 
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 

• Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of Veterans Affairs. 
• Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. 
• Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail. 
• Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings. 
• Knowledge of military and Veteran populations.
