Aptive Resources is seeking an IRB Administrative Support person with demonstrated experience ensuring research protocols submitted for VINCI IRB protocol are assessed in an efficient manner for completeness, accuracy, and level of review according to applicable regulation and/or institutional policy.

This role includes working with the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center (VAMC) in support of IRB project management and administrative activities. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in data repository protocol design, would likely have participated in multiple types of studies (observational, clinical trials), has been published, has written protocols before, understands data safety/structures, and likely has some statistical training. This role will also support ORD STORE protocol development.

This is an immediate hire position and will be 100% remote.

• Review IRB submission for completeness and proper content and communicate to investigators any deficiencies.
• Assist in assigning reviewers for full board and expedited reviews.
• Act as a liaison between reviewers and investigators to ensure any requested changes are made.
• Draft letters and assist with drafting minutes.
• Assist in orienting investigators and coordinators as to proper protocol submission and explaining submission and review process.
• Respond to general questions from investigators and study teams.

• 1+ year experience working with VAIRRS/IRBNet.
• 3+ years of IRB experience in a health care environment.
• BA or BS degree in a biomedical field.

• Advanced knowledge of the scope and function of the IRB as well as the rules and regulations governing the conduct of human subjects research are required.
• Ability to advise and counsel on matters of general research compliance and ethical human participant research practices.
• Must possess excellent technical writing and verbal skills and strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• High level of experience and comfort working independently with senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, medical professionals, and external agencies in complex organizations.
• Proficient with relevant computer programs, including IRBNet web-based software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Must possess discretion and mature judgment, as confidential information is routinely encountered.
• Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and manage deadlines.
• Experience with VA/DoD and knowledge of military populations.
