Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking am experienced and driven Program Manager to support the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by leading a comprehensive research, branding, and awareness campaign that will help the agency rapidly meet its immediate and long-term hiring goals across several career tracks and competencies. In this role you will have overall management of the contract team, including full-scope communications planning and tactics and the allocation of resources. The Program Manager will work directly with client stakeholders to provide outstanding customer service and support and must be able to think quickly, respond to arising challenges, and make course alterations, as needed. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone committed to the success of a significant new initiative with a committed and enthusiastic customer.

 

This is a senior-level, remote position with occasional on-site meetings in the Washington, D.C. area.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for government stakeholders
  • Support and ensure the team operates effectively and is appropriately right sized
  • Effectively mentor, coach, and evaluate team members
  • Provide regular status updates to IRS, including forecasting and risks
  • Oversee program budget and resources
  • Work closely with Aptive’s research manager to develop a communications plan
  • Implement multifaceted communications strategies to improve the IRS’ competitiveness and appeal in the job marketplace
  • Organize and facilitate meetings and events, including developing detailed agendas, capturing meeting minutes, defining meeting outcomes, and tracking action items

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7-10 years leading multidisciplinary communications and marketing teams for federal clients
  • Demonstrated experience with developing awareness campaigns for federal customers
  • Experience with interagency communications and outreach
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related area of study
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Proven experience leading teams in a remote environment

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP Certification
  • Prior experience developing outreach campaigns focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
  • Understanding of performance metrics across paid and organic media
  • Familiarity with the complexities of federal interagency communication and outreach
  • Experience with media buying or partnering with media buyers
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite of products, including MS Teams
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable self-started with a drive to complete work with a high attention to detail and in a timely manner
  • Experience with project management software, such as Jira and MS Planner
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and recommend course corrections to the customer
  • Excellent time management skills
