Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a senior level Account Executive focused on growing our work within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). A successful candidate brings a deep network of existing executive-level relationships across CBP components including U.S. Border Patrol specifically. They have a deep understanding of both programs across CBP the agency procurement process. This individual knows how to open doors and gain customer trust in alignment with upcoming major procurements. Ideally, this individual will be a past federal employee with CBP.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned relationship manager with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and/or U.S. Border Patrol, with a deep understanding of the organizational complexities and decision-making processes within the organization(s). The Account Executive will be responsible for maximizing existing relationships and opening new ones in support of business development goals. We are looking for an experienced manager who knows the landscape and can grow Aptive’s presence with a core customer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with Aptive’s Vice President of Client Development to build additional executive level relationships within CBP, USBP and beyond.
  • Translate customer requirements and expectations into a robust win strategy.
  • Assist with finding the right teaming partners.
  • Coordinate proposal development and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Help Aptive’s team highlight important past performance and explore areas for future performance that will best stimulate growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience within CBP, either in government or on the contractor side.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work effectively with diverse groups of managers and key government stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to coach, lead, motivate, and influence others to support corporate goals and objectives.
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in high stress, high paced environments to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with multi-faceted and often geographically disparate teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • CBP suitability preferred.
  • Retired member of U.S. Customs and Border Protection or U.S. Border Patrol professional staff.
  • Deep understanding of data challenges facing government agencies.
  • Experience working with law enforcement agencies to meet strategies goals.
  • Knowledge of business development and capture management processes.
  • Existing Secret clearance or higher
