Aptive is seeking a Junior Public Relations Specialist to support public relations efforts for a federal client with IT-related communications strategies and services. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting communications campaigns for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and/or in the IT industry.
The Junior Public Relations Specialist will serve as the technical expert in supporting internal and external communications strategy development, planning and execution within the VA. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of local and national media channels and points of contact. The Junior Public Relations Specialist will work with the Senior Public Relations Specialist to develop expert recommendations for the VA Office of Technology's media strategy to reach desired outcomes and help craft messages.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem-solver and action-oriented team player. He/she must be committed to providing superior service, poised in a fast-paced environment and have a positive and flexible attitude.
This is a full-time position in Washington, DC, with potential for remote work with client approval. Some additional travel to events may be required. This is a contingent hire position.
