Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a full-time, Program Manager with comprehensive program management experience, demonstrated supervisory capability and robust management skills. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with both clients and team members to understand requirements and provide recommendations that have a direct impact on the program or mission. The Program Manager will manage personnel, and provide the planning, direction, coordination, and control of customer projects. Additionally, this individual must be able to become a trusted advisor, fostering relationships with potential clients to understand priorities and pain points that inform upcoming business development efforts. 

 

The Program Manager must have an active Top Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI, if needed, as determined by the client. The place of work will be at contractors facility with frequent visits to customer located in Arlington, VA.


The Program Manager role requires a self-starter, proactive problem-solver, timely communicator and action-oriented team player. He/she/they must be committed to providing superior service, act poised in a fast-paced environment, and have a positive and flexible attitude.

This is a contingent hire position. No travel is required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the program manager responsible for organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of the performance of work, often involving complex and inter-related project tasks.
  • Provide overall direction of program activities and successful completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Manage and maintain contractor interface with the senior levels of the customer’s organization.
  • Consult with federal clients and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverables, ensuring conformance with program and project task schedules, costs, and contractual obligations.
  • Establish and maintain schedules, metrics, and financial reports to show progress and effectiveness of projects.
  • Assess performance and suggest process improvement techniques using industry best practice methodologies and tools.
  • Organize and assign responsibilities to contract staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Top Secret Clearance (ability to gain TS/SCI, if needed).
  • DHS experience and understanding.
  • Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy or another related domain.
  • 5-10 years of experience in federal program and policy management services, policy and strategy analysis, knowledge management, correspondence management, and task management.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other similar project management certification required.
  • Demonstrated progressive program management experience.
  • Demonstrated expert program support to senior leaders across the federal government, including White House-level consulting.
  • Demonstrated analytical and presentation skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
