Job Summary

Aptive Resources, in partnership with the Veterans Affairs Health System, is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) in Houston, TX. As an RN with Aptive Resources, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional onsite healthcare services across various units including the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Medical Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, Emergency Room, Medical/Surgical Units, Stepdown Unit, Spinal Cord Injury Unit, and Extended Care Unit.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care across multiple units within the MEDVAMC, ensuring adherence to established protocols, standards, and policies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, promptly identifying changes in status and implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, disease management, and preventative measures to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documentation, and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance nursing practice and patient care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency.
  • Current and unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
