Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Content Strategist to provide communications support services to support enterprise human capital program strategy and support services within the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in large-scale communications campaigns for federal government clients.

 

The candidate must have strong writing, communication and organizational skills. The candidate is an expert in developing communications content and strategies to engage key audiences. The candidate should be able to translate complex data and content into plain language, customer-facing materials to be used for training, web content, briefings, infographics, and reports.

The candidate should be a self-starter, proactive problem-solver, timely communicator, and action-oriented team player. He/she/they must be committed to providing superior service, act poised in a fast-paced environment, and have a positive and flexible attitude.

 

This position is a full-time, contingent hire.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design, development, delivery and of communications using plain language and ensuring consistent style and tone. 
  • Developing and editing customer facing materials (e.g., training, marketing, web content, briefing, recruiting, project update, resource center).
  • Developing style and branding guides and templates for commonly used tools, such as PowerPoint.
  • Ensuring documents are 508 compliant and align with accessibility standards. 
  • Supporting the development of a customer outreach strategy and communication materials for program initiatives, system issues, and feature delivery.
  • Supporting the production (including scripting, recording, editing) of short training or product videos. 
  • Creating program communications using multimedia tools, such as Emma, Survey Monkey, Mediawiki, Adobe, Webex, Camtasia, or Snagit. 
  • Conducting analysis of communication tools and making recommendations to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and ROI. 
  • Creating user support materials such as SOPs, user guides, and customer-facing materials. 
  • Developing a knowledge management strategy for internal resources. 
  • Supporting customer work groups, and other stakeholder community groups, including scheduling and facilitating meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in communications and/or content strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area of study.
  • Experience in content strategy and/or knowledge management.
  • Experience delivering live training sessions, virtually and in-person.
  • Experience designing professional marketing or customer-facing materials.
  • Demonstrated understanding of content strategy’s role in digital design and development process.
  • Experience managing content strategy activities.
  • Minimum of an active Secret Clearance or Tier 4 Public Trust
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with multimedia tools, such as Emma, Survey Monkey, Mediawiki, Adobe, Webex, Camtasia and Snagit.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the human resources industry or with human resources programs and/or in an IT environment or with IT programs.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Strong conceptual and systems thinking.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
