Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Training Specialist to provide training support services to support enterprise human capital program strategy and support services within the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

 

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in large-scale training campaigns for federal government clients.

The candidate must have strong curriculum development, writing, communication and organizational skills. The candidate is an expert in developing user-friendly, dynamic training content and strategies to engage key audiences. Experience working with personnel programs and/or change management initiatives in an IT environment is strongly preferred.

 

The candidate should be a self-starter, proactive problem-solver, timely communicator, and action-oriented team player. He/she/they must be committed to providing superior service, act poised in a fast-paced environment, and have a positive and flexible attitude.

 

This position is a full-time, contingent hire.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of a customer training strategy and materials for program initiatives, system issues, and feature delivery.
  • Designing and delivering training (including managing the training plan and scheduling) as needed via multiple methods (classroom, online, job aids, etc.). 
  • Producing short training or product videos on system functionality, customer presentations, or recruitment. 
  • Soliciting input, documenting requirements, and supporting the design and delivery of training programs. 
  • Supporting the establishment of metrics and measurements to track the performance of trainings.
  • Delivering live training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in designing training content, education, or adult learning and resources in an academic or industry setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area of study.
  • Experience in developing training curriculum and training content strategy and/or knowledge management.
  • Knowledge of adult learning and change management best practices and methodologies (e.g. ADDIE, Prosci).
  • Experience delivering live training sessions, virtually and in-person.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a complex team-based environment in a consulting-type organization focused on enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Highly organized, systematic and proactive in delivering/preparing materials and meeting client expectations within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience providing direct customer support (e.g. responding to inquiries, troubleshooting issues).
  • Demonstrated understanding of content strategy’s role in curriculum and training design and development process.
  • Minimum of an active Secret Clearance or Tier 4 Public Trust
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working in the human resources industry or with human resources programs and/or in an IT environment or with IT programs.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Strong conceptual and systems thinking.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and other online platforms conducive to online group learning and engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of training and technical assistance delivery best practices including adult learning theory, assessment, analysis, instructional strategies and tactics.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience using and managing documentation and materials in SharePoint.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
