Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer who is comfortable supporting a high-visibility project, excels in manual data analysis and possesses expert-level knowledge of PowerBI for creating impactful data visualizations and dashboards to support our Recruitment Marketing program with Customs and Border Protection. The preferred candidate will possess an exceptional knowledge of data visualization techniques to effectively communicate insights and key performance indicators.

 

This is a mid-level, remote position with occasional travel for meetings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth manual data analysis to uncover trends, patterns and insights from diverse data sets.
  • Clean, transform, and prepare data for analysis, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement data analysis strategies to solve complex client problems.
  • Use Tableau, PowerBI and/or other programs’ advanced features to create dynamic, drill-down, an real-time data visualizations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate them into effective data visualization solutions
  • Evaluating and designing data models efficiently and making optimization recommendations.
  • Implement best practices in data visualization to enhance storytelling and decision making
  • Generate detailed reports and summaries of analysis findings for presentation to stakeholders
  • Ensure data security and compliance with data privacy regulations in all data-related activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree + 5 years of related experience
  • Proven experience in data analysis and a strong understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Expertise in Power BI, including the ability to design complex dashboards and reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Experience with data visualization best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation tools (e.g., Python, R).
  • Advanced experience with Google Analytics
  • Advanced experience with Tag Manager
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are a plus.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines
  • ACTIVE CBP Background Investigation/Clearance required
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage change and ambiguity
