Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Board-Certified Cardiac Perfusionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring extracorporeal circulation equipment during surgical procedures involving the heart and other vital organs. As a key member of our cardiac care team, you will play a critical role in ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage extracorporeal circulation equipment during cardiac surgical procedures, including cardiopulmonary bypass, ventricular assist devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
  • Monitor and adjust blood flow, oxygenation, and other parameters to maintain physiological balance during surgery.
  • Administer medications and blood products as directed by the surgical team.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the surgical process.
  • Maintain accurate records of perfusion-related activities, including patient data, equipment logs, and procedural documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to regulatory standards and protocols.
  • Stay current with advancements in perfusion techniques, equipment, and clinical practices through continuing education and professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board certification as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Perfusion Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience as a cardiac perfusionist in a hospital setting, with demonstrated proficiency in managing complex cases.
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional ethics.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
