Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Web Knowledge Manager who will design, manage and coordinate primary internal web portal that displays and disseminates important Public Affairs information using a proprietary or a customized CMS. The candidate must have strong writing, communication and organizational skills and provide weekly meeting support to government clients which includes A/V, VTC, and teleconference support with public affairs professionals worldwide. This individual needs to be able to deliver regular status updates and reports on all managed web resources and work independently to develop content and designs that assist with defining and influencing strategy for client presentations. Candidate must thrive in a high pressure, fast paced, executive-level environment and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

 

The expected compensation at the time of requisition creation is between $120,000-$130,000.  The position offers medical, dental and vision coverage.  Additional benefits such as 401K, disability insurance and PTO are provided as well.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communications plans.
  • Research, write, edit and coordinate a broad range of communications/outreach materials (e.g., articles, blogs, brochures, fact sheets, flyers, media pitches, mobile apps, outreach scripts, social media posts, videos, websites) under strict deadlines.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in communications and outreach.
  • Create and disseminate pitches, presentations, toolkits and other communication materials to establish partnerships and enhance partnership development.
  • Coordinate and prepares meetings with DHS S&T senior leaders, tracks metrics and outcomes related to industry engagements.
  • Plan and coordinate speaking opportunities and vendor meetings at key conferences and industry engagements.
  • Orchestrate the activities of cross-functional teams, delivering project requirements of high quality and on schedule.
  • Gather, analyze and interpret information and data from various sources to use across content.
  • Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Schedule, lead and attend meetings with potential partners and clients on a regular basis.
  • Develop content in compliance with AP style and other guidelines.
  • Review outreach material for stylistic and formatting consistency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, outreach, public relations and strategic partnership development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, hard sciences, computer science or a related field.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships within and between federal agencies, nonprofits and private sector partners and building awareness of such partnership initiatives.
  • Project management experience and expertise.
  • Familiarity with a variety of emerging technology and scientific research trends, especially as it related to national security issues.
  • Expert knowledge of the use of digital means to connect and engage is critical.
  • Experience supporting large federal agencies.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of content management systems, database functionality, communication surveys/assessments, web development.
  • Skilled in stakeholder identification and relationship management, leadership messaging, outreach, message mapping, communicating key messages.
  • Expertise in branding, organization identity, and measurement.
  • Experience in risk communications, media relations, media monitoring, media analysis, and media reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven expertise in strategic communications, public relations, public affairs, research, writing and editing.
  • Proficiency in organizing, communicating information, and scheduling and leading meetings with c-suite level stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple moving parts, juggle assignments and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to deliver clear, compelling communications, both written and verbal.
  • Perform well in team settings and work productively as an individual.
  • Positive and energetic attitude with a strong desire to meet goals, priorities and commitments.
