Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Senior Research to help identify, summarize, and organize news and information received from various sources; analyze and interpret the information for its impact on the client, and prepare summaries of the information with recommendations for action. The ideal candidate will examine news items of national, and international significance to identify items of interest and impact to Army leadership. This individual must have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the military preferably with experience as a military public affairs officer.  The position involves measurement, risks, media relations, media monitoring, media analysis and media reporting. Candidate must thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

 

The expected compensation at the time of requisition creation is between $125,000-$140,000.  The position offers medical, dental and vision coverage.  Additional benefits such as 401K, disability insurance and PTO are provided as well.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Gather information and develop perspectives about news subjects through research, interviews, observation, and experience. 
  • Help ensure that the highest standards of ethics and legality are upheld in all research and evaluation projects (e.g. confidentiality and privacy, trauma-informed practice, Paperwork Reduction Act compliance).
  • Develop metrics that gauge the importance and impact of news stories to evaluate the effectiveness of our overall effort at media analysis. 
  • Proven experience in pre- and post-campaign metrics, data visualization, and proactive audience identification.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in applied research with increasing responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, hard sciences, computer science or a related field.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Demonstrated experience working within and between federal agencies, nonprofits and private sector partners.
