Job Summary

Aptive is seeking an exhibit manager/senior communication strategist to support the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs, Army Public Affairs program. This individual will support OCPA personnel by coordinating, designing, discussing creative input, and technical drawing plans of various two-dimensional (2-D) and three-dimensional (3-D) Pentagon exhibit displays to promote Army messaging, Army pride and the Army’s story to diverse audiences. Additionally, the candidate must have strong writing, communication and organizational skills to support executive and congressional communications initiatives.


This position requires strong customer interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to work with various, senior level stakeholders across multiple tasks. Experience developing and delivering compelling, informative, and well written prose is a requirement. The successful candidate will be proactive with demonstrated success in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, all while developing compelling congressional responses/testimonies, briefings, key messages, talking points, speeches, executive decision memos, and other materials. Candidate must also have the ability to work and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. 

 

The expected compensation at the time of requisition creation is between $100,000 - 120,000.  The position offers medical, dental and vision coverage.  Additional benefits such as 401K, disability insurance and PTO are provided as well.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, design, discuss creative input, and technical drawing plans for exhibits.
  • Develop and implement communications plans and strategies and associated tactics and metrics.
  • Research, write, edit and coordinate a broad range of communications/outreach materials (e.g., articles, blogs, brochures, fact sheets, flyers, media pitches, mobile apps, outreach scripts, social media posts, videos, websites) under strict deadlines.
  • Create and disseminate pitches, presentations, toolkits and other communication materials to establish partnerships and enhance partnership development.
  • Develop a wide range of written communications artifacts. 
  • Work closely with OCPA personnel to propose solutions and develop communication approaches. 
  • Develop executive and congressional communication strategies and manage execution of all tasks on deadline. 
  • Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including members of Congress. 
  • Schedule, lead and attend meetings with senior clients on a regular basis. 
  • Review documents for stylistic and formatting consistency. 
  • Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to develop and execute communications requirements, review content and gather feedback. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years demonstrated strategic/tactical/media communication level experience within the last 10 years.
  • Proficient in producing 3-D drawings and capable of importing generic files from facilities and sites to render drawings.
  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. 
  • Experience supporting large federal agencies.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills and the ability to quickly edit and proof copy. 
  • Experience in events management and/or booth equipment design.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Experience in communications, research, writing and editing. 
  • Experience in congressional, executive and/or crisis communications.
  • Proficiency in organizing and communicating information in plain language. 
  • Strong time management, creativity and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to deliver clear, compelling communications for any media.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understands how to collaborate on a team and take initiative as an individual. 
  • Has a positive, energetic attitude with a strong desire to meet goals, priorities and commitments. 
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. 
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
