Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Senior Project Manager, High Reliability with demonstrated experience in a Government and/or commercial health care operations environment, a thorough comprehension of hospital clinical and business operations, and experience with healthcare transformation efforts.


In this role, the Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) journey to become a High
Reliability Organization (HRO) across 170+ sites of care:


- Manage a large program with multiple concurrent workstreams, multiple
  subcontractors, and focuses on a number of complex initiatives that address, implement
  and apply HRO sustainment across the health system.
- Lead and support HRO cultural transformation.
- Conduct analysis of outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior leaders in utilizing and continuously evaluating and improving
  existing enterprise-level tools, organizational structures and systems, and strategies to
  facilitate the development and sustainment of safe and reliable care practices with a
  focus on leadership commitment, patient safety culture and continuous process
  improvement
- Maintain current knowledge of standards, rules and regulations as mandated by the
  Department of Veterans Affairs, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other
  quality organizations.


This senior-level, full-time position is a remote position with some light travel possible.

Primary Responsibilities

- Focus on project delivery and business and technical integration, oversight of key business and process enablers.
- Provide strategic direction, vision and leadership.
- Manage the project team and daily operations of project development, project delivery
  and oversight of key business enablers on projects to achieve the project objectives and
  goals.
- Communicate with project stakeholders across the health care system.
- Provide technical guidance to the project team in performance of the work, and review
  the quality of all work products
- Organize, direct and coordinate the planning and production of all tasks and support
  activities.
- Provide staff direction and oversight.
- Assist staff to carry out the functions and activities to address, implement and apply
  High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles and practices.
- Utilize data and comparative analytical processes in recommending design and
  implementation of innovative programs to improve service excellence, customer

  satisfaction and compliance to patient care and regulatory standards.
- Function as a facilitator in implementing action plans and process improvement
  strategies at service and healthcare system level.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care,
  policies and objectives for the enhancement of HRO concepts/culture organization wide.

 

Minimum Qualifications

- 5 years of work experience in Government and/or commercial health care operations
   (3 years must be directly related to HRO implementation in a healthcare setting).
- Government health care operations consulting experience.
- Master’s degree in a related field of study.
- Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of
  Veterans Affairs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- PMP certified or equivalent.

- Strong hands-on analytical, project management and communication skills.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced,
  rapidly evolving environment.
- Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to
  detail.
- Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings.
- Accredited, credentialed, and/or certified provider of clinical services or healthcare
  operations (preferred).
