Job Summary

Aptive seeks a Program Director to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)  Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Office of Finance. In this role, the Program Director will be responsible for leading efforts to modernize VHA’s financial operations by deploying a new VA Financial Acquisition Management system, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining financial processes.

Primary Responsibilities

Aptive is looking for a experienced candidates with specialized experience in finance and healthcare IT, combined with Government and/or commercial health care operations. Critical responsibilities include

 

  • Manage across the project lifecycle including assisting with scope definition, business case development, vendor assessment, requirements gathering, functional and technical design, testing, training, and implementation phases
  • Develop and execute a communications plan to consistently provide leadership and stakeholders with updates related to project strategy, risk, issue identification, mitigation and resolution plans, adjustments, and progress.
  • Identify and develop solutions for financial data and system issues related to posting logic, USSGL compliance, data management, and processes 
  • Provide leadership over the review and evaluatation of financial risk, financial reporting, and accounting transactions and processes including controls related to federal entities
  • Provide guidance to to analyze data, financial information, and system outputs and determine their effect on business processes, controls and accounting treatment
  • Set direction and review work performed by other staff
  • Contribute to design, preparation, and analysis of reports / findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field.
PMP certification
Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or a closely related field.
Deep understanding of VA and VHA financial and budgetary landscape.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.

Desired Qualifications

Experience supporting the VA or VHA highly desired
Experience in implementing a financial system such as CALM and/or the Financial Management System (FMS)
