Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a full-time writer to support the Veteran Health Administration’s High Reliability (HRO) efforts. This position will support VHA’s High Reliability Support Team. This team works to support the implementation of HRO practices within all aspects of
VHA by creating timely and effective communications regarding the efforts of the team.

 

This is a full-time remote position.

Primary Responsibilities

Write, edit and coordinate a broad range of communications/outreach materials (e.g., articles, blogs, brochures, fact sheets, flyers, outreach scripts, social media
posts, videos, websites) under strict deadlines.
Create and disseminate pitches, presentations, toolkits and other communication materials to establish partnerships and enhance partnership development.
Gather, analyze and interpret information and data from various sources to use across content.
Plan, generate and deliver client-ready materials for stakeholders, including leadership.
Develop content in compliance with AP style and other guidelines.
Review outreach material for stylistic and formatting consistency.

Minimum Qualifications

6+ years of experience in writing, strategic communications, and outreach
Excellent writing and editing skills to include familiarity with AP styles and ability to adapt to specific organizational style conventions rapidly.
Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related field.
Expert knowledge of the use of digital means to connect and engage is critical.
Experience supporting large federal agencies.
Authorized to work in the U.S. and the ability to obtain and maintain any required government background check or clearance

Desired Qualifications

Understanding of HRO principles and implementation
Understanding of the health care industry
Proven expertise in strategic communications, public relations, public affairs,
research, writing and editing.
Proficiency in organizing, communicating information, and scheduling and
leading meetings with c-suite level stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple moving parts, juggle assignments and make sound
decisions.
Ability to deliver clear, compelling communications, both written and verbal.
Perform well in team settings and work productively as an individual.
Positive and energetic attitude with a strong desire to meet goals, priorities and
commitments
