Job Summary

EKG Technician

Location: VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) – Multiple Sites
Contract Period: Base Year + Three Option Years
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Hourly: 31.25/hr plus 4.93 for Health and Wellness 

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and stress tests.
  • Assist in monitoring heart rhythms and arrhythmias.
  • Set up and maintain EKG equipment for accurate readings.
  • Instruct and prepare patients for cardiac monitoring procedures.
  • Recognize and report abnormal cardiac patterns to medical staff.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure test results are properly documented.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited EKG Technician program.
  • Certification as a Certified EKG Technician (CET) preferred.
  • Minimum one year of EKG experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of cardiac rhythms and physiology.
