Job Summary

Job Title: Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) – Temporary Contract Position
Location: Canandaigua VA Medical Center (Canandaigua, NY)
Schedule: Evening and night shifts, 8- or 12-hour tours, rotating weekends and holidays
Clearance/Status: U.S. Citizenship required; active unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory

Position Summary

Arrow ARC Staffing is seeking experienced and qualified Long Term Care Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide patient-centered, skilled nursing care for Veterans residing in long-term care units at the Canandaigua and Bath VA Medical Centers. These are temporary, full-time contract positions supporting the VA’s 24/7 inpatient care operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Veterans with chronic illness or disabilities in a long-term care setting
  • Promote patient independence, dignity, and quality of life through individualized care planning
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate ongoing care services
  • Administer medications and perform clinical interventions per physician orders and VA standards
  • Document all care provided in the VA’s electronic health record (EHR) system accurately and timely

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in long-term care nursing
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Ability to work evening and night shifts, including rotating weekends and federal holidays
  • Ability to pass VA credentialing and onboarding requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a VA or federal healthcare facility
  • Certification or accreditation through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Strong knowledge of chronic illness management and geriatric care best practices
