Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Professional Auditor to serve as one of three key auditors responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on health-care-focused performance, financial, or compliance audits conducted under the 2024 Revision of Government Auditing Standards. You will lead audit steps from risk assessment through final report issuance, ensure full conformance with GAGAS quality-management requirements, and mentor junior staff.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop risk-based audit plan, program, and sampling methodology
  • Coordinate entrance conference and obtain management’s process understanding
  • Perform statistical and judgemental sampling of transactions
  • Interview executives and process owners to confirm control design & implementation.
  • Test internal controls (design & operating effectiveness) using walkthroughs, re-performance, and data analytics
  • Execute analytical and substantive procedures to obtain sufficient, appropraite evidence 
  • Draft finding sheets, root-cause analyses, and recommendations
  • Quantify impact of control weakensses and non-compliance
  • Lead exit conference; prepare draft and final audit reports in accordance with GAGAS reporting standards
  • Support corrective-action tracking and quality-management reviews
     

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Healthcare.
  •  5+ years total audit experience including
  •  3 years applying GAGAS to performance or financial audits.
  • Deep familiarity with GAGAS 2024 quality-management framework, fieldwork, and reporting chapters.
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare delivery systems, revenue cycles, and related regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, VA, TRICARE).
  • Advanced sampling & data-analysis techniques; strong interviewing, documentation, and written/oral briefing abilities; proficiency with audit software (IDEA/ACL, TeamMate, or similar).
  • Ability to obtainand maintain a public trust clearance 
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
