The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) requires contractor support to provide program evaluation of the implementation of the mandated legislation of the COMPACT ACT by analyzing return on investment, efficiency, and effectiveness of VA’s provision of these statutorily mandated benefits that directly impact Veterans. Implementation of the COMPACT ACT’s mandates involves complex consideration of broad Veteran eligibility and need for critical VHA Clinical Care, Integrated Veteran Care (Community Care), Informatics, Eligibility, Revenue, Patient Advocacy, and community healthcare systems to work together to directly serve Veterans. The requirements include critical Program Evaluation analyses of the critical and life-saving benefits of this program that directly impacts Veterans.

 

This contract work provides critical program evaluation support for the VA/VHA Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP) in the sustainment of COMPACT Act, Section 201 including:

1)  Employing a systematic method for collecting, analyzing, and leveraging information to

evaluate healthcare projects, policies, and programs for effectiveness and efficiency;

2) Conduct gap analyses;

3) Regularly providing findings on COMPACT ACT, Section 201 program evaluation efforts

and status to Office of Suicide Prevention leadership; and

4) Development of an Annual Report for COMPACT ACT, Section 201.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports and other program documentation, prepare graphics presentations, perform data entry, filing, and reproduction.
  • Manage logistics related to client team meetings, calendars, scheduling meetings and coordinate meeting materials and information to ensure schedules are aligned.
  • Track action items and meeting documentation, and follow up regarding due outs following meeting.
  • Draft and distribute agendas, briefings, papers and other materials relevant to support productive and efficient meetings.
  • Apply familiarity with professional and sometimes technical terminology to proofread and edit documents.
  • Take notes and provide meeting summaries with a focus on action items.
  • Leverage tools for collaboration, data collection, and reporting, and identify program office administrative needs as well as potential solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 4 years related experience
  • HS diploma
  • Must be detail oriented and committed to the mission of serving Veterans through enhanced support of the Office of Suicide Prevention.
  • Experience drafting notes, implementation plans, and adhering to strict timelines.
  • Responsible for interfacing, both orally and via written communications, with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use and management of Microsoft Suite of products (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge/experience with VA or VHA programs
  • Knowledge/experience with healthcare data and/or Federal policy implementation
  • Knowledge/experience with mental health and/or suicide prevention, intervention fields
  • Knowledge/experience working with Veteran community.
