Job Summary

Aptive seeks an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead portfolio, program, and project management efforts in support of National Health, Lung, and Blood Institute Program Management Support Services (PMSS) activities. This role is ideal for a senior-level project management professional with proven leadership ability, deep experience in health-related research program environments, and the capability to guide multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex initiatives on time, in alignment with scope, and within budget.

 

Primary Responsibilities

As Senior Project Manager, you will provide strategic direction, mentor team members, serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, and contribute to the ongoing development of PMSS best practices and tools.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in portfolio, program, or project management, preferably for a federal agency. If degree is not in a science-related field, 5+ years of experience must be in a biomedical, pharmaceutical, biotech, academic medical center, or health-related organization.
  • 5+ years serving in a team lead or project lead position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in appliable field (e.g., science, public health, business, or project management).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs) preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management and collaboration platforms.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience providing mentorship, direction, and professional development for project managers, project coordinators, and other team members.
  • Experience providing leadership and strategic guidance to stakeholders related to program and project management services.
  • Experience overseeing multiple, complex programs and projects, ensuring adherence to standards, scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Understanding of NIH and NHLBI organizational structure.
  • Adept at developing and delivering status reports, project plans, and high-level updates for leadership.
  • Experience acting as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior agency leadership.
  • Experience developing and implementing project management process, tools and templates and promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across team members.
