Job Summary

Aptive seeks an experienced Senior Communications Specialist to serve as the communications lead for a public health campaign in support of the Department of Defense’s (DOD) Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE). This role is responsible for the planning, development and execution of strategic marketing and media communications to support anti-stigma messaging and suicide prevention initiatives across the military community. This position requires a seasoned communications professional capable of managing content development, public relations, media strategy, and digital outreach on a national scale.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The ideal candidate’s communications expertise is complimented by military and/or mental health communications experience. They have previous experience executing healthcare communications projects and are highly organized and systematic in their project work. They exceed client expectations with high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, and social media.
  • Master’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
  • Experience providing social media and marketing services for psychological health campaigns preferred.

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in social media and marketings with demonstrated success in public health or psychological health campaigns
  • Familiarity with DoD and military culture, behavioral health initiatives, and suicide prevention messaging
  • Expertise in creating and executing a robust strategic communications plan, including social media strategy, content development, and multimedia storytelling
  • Strong project management, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Proven ability to develop original campaign materials (e.g., brochures, posters, PSAs, videos)
  • Experience managing the coordination of releases across multimedia (e.g., print, digital, social media) platforms
  • Ability to analyze campaign data and conduct market research to track the effectiveness of campaigns and optimize message placement and engagement
