Job Summary

The VHA Suicide Prevention Interagency Management Support Contract (TOPR 0224) provides program management, evaluation, and communications expertise to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP). This contract strengthens VHA’s ability to coordinate interagency suicide prevention initiatives, oversee national strategies, and expand support for Transitioning Service Members (TSMs). The team provides disciplined project management, rigorous evaluation, and actionable reporting to ensure VA leadership can advance suicide prevention outcomes across federal, state, and community partners.

Primary Responsibilities

The Technical Writer/Editor Sr supports development of executive-level reports, interagency deliverables, briefing materials, and other documents. This role ensures all products are accurate, professional, and aligned with VA style standards. Deliverables include drafting and editing progress reports, interagency reports, leadership briefings, and technical guidance documents. The writer supports the documentation of lessons learned, maintains editorial quality control, and translates technical language into clear and accessible products for diverse audiences including VA leadership, Congress, and interagency stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technical writing and editing.
  • Strong understanding of medical and healthcare terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to edit and produce executive-level reports.

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Experience writing for federal agencies, preferably VA.
  • Familiarity with VA Executive Secretariat Style Guide.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Box.com.
  • Familiarity with suicide prevention and Veteran health program, policy, and reporting styles.
