Job Summary

Aptive is seeking an Audiovisual Specialist to serve as a videographer, photographer, podcast audio producer, and digital media editor for a federal client. This individual will be responsible for developing and editing a variety of digital media products including, but not limited to, videos, video news stories, event videos and photos, and training videos. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience establishing and recommending requirements for multimedia projects based on the customer’s objectives; arranging for the recording of required media onsite (e.g., b-roll, interviews); and preparing digital, web, and social media content for federal clients.

 

The Audiovisual Specialist role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver, and action-oriented team player with previous experience in federal contracting, preferably with military clients. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

 

This is a contingent hire position.

 

This position is currently slated to be on site in Washington, DC. Remote work may be considered at a future date. Travel to support client engagements may be required.

 The expected compensation at the time of requisition creation, is between $70,000 to $80,000.  The position offers with medical, dental and vision coverage.  Additional benefits such as 401K, disability insurance and PTO are provided as well.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide multimedia support for digital media using industry-leading software (e.g., Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, After Effects).
  • Develop storylines, conduct video interviews, and ensure all products are aligned with federal and client branding and editorial style guidelines.
  • Plan, produce, edit, and deliver professional, broadcast quality news videos, video messages, testimonials, public awareness videos, how-to videos, educational videos, animations, motion graphics, and more.
  • Oversee all aspects of digital product creation, to include concept, story development, lighting, sound design, video editing, and all pre- and post-production activities.
  • Use creative storytelling principles to convey messages to target audiences.
  • Ensure each video product adheres to client’s preferred medium and available budget.
  • Ensure videos are aligned with Section 508 standards, include closed captioning, and are available in SRT files for use on other platforms.
  • Collect consent forms and/or voice/image releases.
  • Oversee licensing and use of procured and copyrighted images and video segments, ensuring all assets align with the scope, intended use, and dissemination channel for final distribution.
  • Catalog and store video and audio recordings in a manner that affords search and filter features available for government staff.
  • Conduct photoshoots, as requested, and assist in the editing, cataloging, and storing of photos for use across projects.
  • Capture photographs for use in a variety of different products and formats (e.g., social media posts, graphic and video products, and large format printed materials such as posters and banners).

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in business, communications, media, or a related field OR 3 years of experience with a master’s degree or higher.
  • 5 years of directly relevant multimedia experience involving frequent, high-level technical and time-critical needs in the visual marketing, media, and public information service areas.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience developing motion graphics, operating digital cameras and other audiovisual equipment, and using digital media editing software.
  • Proven understanding of and ability to implement Section 508 standards.
  • Ability to provide consulting services to federal clients.
  • Proven experience communication comfortably and effectively with a range of stakeholders both orally and in email.
  • Proven experience maintaining an understanding of current events relating to the client and their work while analyzing and developing appropriate and effective responses to those events.
  • Ability to understand client’s priorities and provide creative ideas and strategic thought to support their mission.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
  • Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
