Aptive is seeking support the Mission Daybreak 2.0 contract to support VA’s Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP) and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Innovation Ecosystem. The program builds on VA’s innovation and human-centered design frameworks to rapidly test, evaluate, and scale solutions that reduce Veteran suicide. Aptive’s team will manage a portfolio of innovation projects, coordinate governance and reporting, deliver evaluation and research insights, plan stakeholder and engagement events, and support the development of scalable training and communications products.

This Project Manager role will directly oversee assigned innovation projects as they progress through VA’s S0–S7 innovation gates, ensuring projects are designed, tested, scaled, and launched in alignment with portfolio standards. The PM is accountable for guiding project teams through decision points, delivering required evidence packages, and keeping timelines and deliverables on track.

In addition to lifecycle management, this PM provides specialized leadership in stakeholder engagement, ensuring communication products and engagement packages effectively convey project outcomes to leadership, Veterans, and external stakeholders. This may include planning and overseeing the development of abstracts, decks, and options memos. Engagement products are to be tailored for leadership, Veterans, and clinicians, and coordinates with communications specialists and designers to deliver polished, accessible outputs.

• BA/BS degree.
• 4 years of experience in project management.
• PMP certification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing communications-heavy projects.

• Background in public affairs, communications, or stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with VA communications standards and 508 compliance.
• Experience producing briefing decks and engagement materials for senior leaders.

The Office of Suicide Prevention leads VA’s national strategy to reduce Veteran suicide through prevention, intervention, and postvention efforts. The VHA Innovation Ecosystem partners with OSP to accelerate promising ideas from pilot to practice across the VA healthcare system. Together, these offices foster collaboration with Veterans, clinicians, and innovators to identify effective solutions, strengthen system readiness, and improve outcomes for Veterans and their families.
