Job Summary

Aptive seeks an entry‑level Junior Data Analyst to support data management, data quality, and analytics activities across work outlined in the PWS for VA’s EHRM Single‑Pathway Issue‑Resolution program. Working under the guidance of senior analysts, this role helps enable data‑driven decisions for EHRM deployments, ServiceNow (SNOW) migration, and patient‑safety reporting. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, eager to learn federal healthcare data environments, and comfortable working with SQL, spreadsheets, and basic scripting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Extract, clean, and join datasets using SQL and Excel; assist with basic scripting in Python or R for repeatable tasks.
  • Build clear tables, simple charts, and summary views to track trends, issues, and outcomes.
  • Follow established analytical methods and document steps to ensure reproducibility
  • Run routine checks on RMA (Risk Management App), ServiceNow, and Power Apps data pipelines; flag anomalies and complete initial triage using SQL/Python under senior guidance.
  • Execute standardized data‑quality rules and validation checklists; log results and update tracking artifacts.
  • Help maintain data dictionaries, lineage, and metadata entries in Purview/Collibra.
  • Assist with validation (“does this match the source?”) of Tableau/Power BI dashboards against integrity and accessibility standards; record defects and retest fixes.
  • Prepare slides and talking points that translate analytical findings into concise, actionable updates for project managers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the automation of quality checks using templates or scripts (e.g., Power Automate/SQL/Python) developed by senior staff.
  • Participate in SAFe ceremonies (PI planning, sprint reviews, demos) to ensure data‑quality tasks are planned, executed, and auditable.
  • Adhere to VA/VHA compliance standards and Aptive SOPs; support audit readiness through thorough documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Health, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0–3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or data operations (internships, co‑ops, or capstone projects count).
  • Foundational proficiency in SQL (filters/joins/aggregations) and comfort with Excel (lookups, pivots) and at least one of Python or R for data wrangling.
  • Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI for building or validating basic visuals; willingness to learn performance and accessibility considerations.
  • Interest in data governance practices; familiarity with tools like Microsoft Purview or Collibra is a plus.
  • Clear, concise communicator with strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation and version control.
  • Public Trust clearance eligibility and U.S. work authorization required.

Desired Qualifications

· Exposure to federal healthcare data or large, complex enterprise environments.

· Coursework or hands‑on work with VHA systems/data

· Experience with ServiceNow, Power Apps, or Power Automate for workflow/data pipeline tasks.

· Familiarity with Agile/SAFe and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint)
