Job Summary

Aptive seeks an Information and Process Engineer to support Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s One-FDA initiative. This role will focus on designing and refining workflows, integrating AI-enabled solutions, and ensuring successful adoption of new tools and practices by end-users. The Information and Process Engineer will serve as a connector between technical teams, program staff, and stakeholders, helping to align innovative solutions with real-world user needs and enabling sustained change across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing workflows in areas such as records management, contracting, and performance monitoring to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Design and implement AI- and data-enabled process improvements that streamline operations and strengthen compliance.
  • Document workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process maps for leadership and staff.
  • Develop strategies to drive adoption of new AI/ML tools, dashboards, and automated processed.
  • Collaborate with training and communications teams to create user-friendly guides, quick reference materials, and job aids.
  • Support stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops, and feedback loops to ensure solutions meet user needs.
  • Partner with data scientists and developers to ensure AI/ML models and dashboards are aligned with operational workflows.
  • Translate technical requirements into business use cases and ensure human-in-the-loop processes are maintained.
  • Assist in testing, validating, and refining AI tools to improve accuracy, reliability, and user confidence.
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track adoption, efficiency gains, and overall program impact.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate results and inform decision-making.
  • Recommend continuous improvement strategies based on data-driven insights and user feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in process engineering, organizational change, or technology adoption.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, public administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives involving emerging technologies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with experience guiding adoption of new systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
  • Must meet U.S. residency requirement (3 of last 5 years) and be eligible for Public Trust clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with federal agencies or health or science-focused organizations.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications, workflow automation, and dashboard development.
  • Certification in process improvement, change management, or IT frameworks (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, ITIL).
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
