Location: VASDHS & CBOCs | Reports To: Chief/Supervisory Technologist | Schedule: 24/7 coverage; 12-hour shifts; on-call (30-minute report time)
Compensation: $65.00/hr plus $5.09 for Health and Wellness
Operate dual-energy CT systems to perform high-quality diagnostic CT imaging of the head, neck, chest, abdomen/pelvis, spine, extremities, and vascular studies for veteran patients in a complex, high-acuity environment.
Screen and prep patients; obtain histories and consent as required; establish IV access and perform contrast injections (per protocol).
Perform CT exams per VA protocols with appropriate dose optimization and radiation safety practices.
Prepare rooms, supplies, and contrast; maintain crash-cart/contrast safety readiness.
Post-process and transmit images to PACS; complete documentation in VistA/CPRS.
Monitor patients for contrast reactions; initiate appropriate interventions and escalation.
Collaborate with radiologists to tailor protocols for diagnostic quality and patient safety.
Support quality control, peer review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Advanced ARRT (CT) plus ARRT (R); California license(s) as applicable.
2+ years full-time, current CT experience within the last 3 years.
IV certification and demonstrated IV start/contrast administration competency.
BLS; strong PACS/EMR skills; English fluency.
