Job Summary

The Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the VFMP Modernization portfolio. This role ensures that all projects within the modernization effort are synchronized, dependencies are tracked, milestones are met, and leadership has visibility into schedule performance. The Scheduler plays a critical role in risk identification, timeline optimization, and communication across a complex set of modernization initiatives, ensuring on-time delivery of mission-critical capabilities to Veterans, beneficiaries, and providers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the VFMP modernization portfolio using MS Project or similar tools.
  • Coordinate scheduling across multiple workstreams and contractors, identifying dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.
  • Track schedule performance, progress, risks, and variances; provide regular reports and recommendations to leadership.
  • Collaborate with portfolio, project, and technical teams to update and maintain schedule accuracy as project requirements evolve.
  • Support executive decision-making by providing schedule analytics, forecasts, and what-if scenario planning.
  • Align schedules with budget, resource, and scope considerations to ensure program objectives are met.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience scheduling large-scale federal or enterprise technology programs.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or equivalent scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP, PMI-SP, or similar project scheduling certification.
  • Experience with federal government projects, especially VA or healthcare modernization efforts.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and program performance reporting.
