The Atlanta VA Health Care System is seeking a Board-Certified Breast Imaging Specialist or a General Radiologist with MQSA Certification to join our dynamic Radiology Department. This position plays a key role in supporting women’s health and comprehensive diagnostic imaging services for our nation’s Veterans.
The Radiologist will be responsible for providing a full range of breast imaging and general radiology services. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Protocoling and interpreting breast imaging studies including screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs
Preparing and reviewing detailed imaging reports for referring physicians
Performing breast procedures such as stereotactic-guided, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided biopsies, as well as Savi Scout localizations
Collaborating with referring clinicians to discuss diagnostic findings and treatment options
Ensuring optimal image quality by working closely with mammography, ultrasound, and MRI technologists
Maintaining compliance with MQSA, ACR, and VA standards for quality and safety in breast imaging
Must pass pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, and background/security investigation
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Completion of all onboarding and employment verification processes
U.S. Citizenship
Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs
Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state or territory
Residency Training: Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology (ACGME, AOA, or equivalent as approved by the VA)
Board Certification: Board certified (or eligible) in Diagnostic Radiology
English Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English
Fellowship training in Breast Imaging strongly preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience interpreting mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs
Experience performing image-guided breast biopsies
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrated commitment to quality, teaching, and Veteran-centered care
