Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.


Summary

The Atlanta VA Health Care System is seeking a Board-Certified Breast Imaging Specialist or a General Radiologist with MQSA Certification to join our dynamic Radiology Department. This position plays a key role in supporting women’s health and comprehensive diagnostic imaging services for our nation’s Veterans.

Primary Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

The Radiologist will be responsible for providing a full range of breast imaging and general radiology services. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Protocoling and interpreting breast imaging studies including screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs

  • Preparing and reviewing detailed imaging reports for referring physicians

  • Performing breast procedures such as stereotactic-guided, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided biopsies, as well as Savi Scout localizations

  • Collaborating with referring clinicians to discuss diagnostic findings and treatment options

  • Ensuring optimal image quality by working closely with mammography, ultrasound, and MRI technologists

  • Maintaining compliance with MQSA, ACR, and VA standards for quality and safety in breast imaging

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, and background/security investigation

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

  • Completion of all onboarding and employment verification processes

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs

  • Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state or territory

  • Residency Training: Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology (ACGME, AOA, or equivalent as approved by the VA)

  • Board Certification: Board certified (or eligible) in Diagnostic Radiology

  • English Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English

 

Desired Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Fellowship training in Breast Imaging strongly preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience interpreting mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs

  • Experience performing image-guided breast biopsies

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, teaching, and Veteran-centered care
