Job Summary

Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist (Medical Instrument Technician)

Shift / Tour of Duty

  • Rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call

    • Days: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

    • Split: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

    • Evenings: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

    • Nights: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM

Compensation: Starting at $50.00/hr plus $5.09 for Health and Wellness

 

Position Overview

The Sonographer performs highly complex diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a Radiologist. Exams are frequently performed on patients with serious illness or physical limitations requiring adaptive techniques.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and portable ultrasound studies

  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and sterile supplies

  • Explain procedures and verify patient preparation

  • Optimize image quality, labeling, and exam completeness

  • Maintain infection control and patient safety standards

  • Archive images and document procedures in PACS/DHCP

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • ARDMS certification – Required

  • Familiarity with GE ultrasound equipment

  • Knowledge of Philips IntelliSpace PACS highly desirable
