Location: White River Junction VA Medical Center – Mobile Dental Clinic
Compensation: Starting at 21.00/hr; negotionable hourly based on years of experience. Mobile Dental Clinic experience is a plus.
Dental Assistants provide chairside, administrative, and operational support to dentists and dental hygienists within the mobile dental clinic environment.
Perform chairside assistance for all phases of dentistry.
Prepare patients and instruments for procedures.
Measure and record vital signs, including geriatric considerations.
Operate dental x-ray equipment and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
Assist with VA EHR and Dental EHR documentation, chart updates, and lab prescriptions.
Provide patient education and post-care instructions.
Assist with setup, breakdown, and daily operation of the mobile dental clinic.
Maintain inventory and report replacement needs.
Support patient flow and clinic efficiency.
Identify and document process improvements.
Assist with pilot program reporting.
Current, full, and unrestricted registration as a Dental Assistant in the State of Vermont.
Minimum of one (1) year of creditable experience practicing as a full-time dental assistant; VA experience preferred.
Meets radiologic credentialing requirements under 42 C.F.R. Part 75.
Radiologic certification must be completed within one (1) month of onboarding via one of the following:
Dental Radiation Health and Safety Examination (DANB), OR
VA-approved Principles and Practice of Dental Radiology course, OR
State board or Department of Defense–approved radiation safety program.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office applications.
Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical terminology.
Current unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ability to operate a mobile dental clinic (CDL not required).
Willingness to comply with VA vehicle operation policies and training per VA Directive 0637.
Current BLS or CPR certification from an American Heart Association–approved program.
