Job Summary

Job Title: Primary Care (Outpatient) RN

Location: Miami VA Medical Center: 1201 NW 16th St, Miami, FL 33125

Period of Performance: 08/12/2025 – 08/11/2030

Shift Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts

Position Description: The Primary Care/PACT Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. This role supports Veterans in a multidisciplinary outpatient environment by combining clinical expertise, care coordination, patient education, and procedural assistance.  You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient-centered care, focusing on wellness and disease management. Your expertise will be essential in assessing patient needs and coordinating healthcare services to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will also be expected to respond to urgent clinical situations, including escalating care and escorting Veterans to the Emergency Department when medically necessary. Ideal candidates are confident in clinical decision-making, possess strong assessment skills, and capable of navigating multiple service lines while maintaining a focus on compassionate, Veteran-centered care.

  • And all duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state in the United States.
  • Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of current nursing experience to include at least two (2) years of inpatient experience in care coordination and at least two (2) years of nursing experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Education: ASN accepted; BSN preferred.
    • Education must have been completed at a school accredited by the ACEN or CCNE.
