Job Summary

Artemis ARC seeks a knowledgeable and experienced Facilities Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Facilities to support Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Healthcare Engineering & Facilities Programs (HEFP) initiatives. This role provides critical engineering expertise to ensure infrastructure programs, capital projects, and facility operations meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance.

 

The Facilities SME applies deep technical knowledge to evaluate complex systems, support program execution, and deliver recommendations that enhance efficiency and sustainability across the VHA enterprise.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive engineering and design reviews for healthcare facility infrastructure projects.

 

Evaluate compliance with VA design standards, directives, and applicable regulatory requirements.

 

Perform lifecycle cost analyses, return on investment assessments, and technology evaluations.

 

Support development and refinement of engineering policies, procedures, and program guidance.

 

Provide expert consultation across HEFP initiatives including energy management, facilities infrastructure, and capital programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in facilities engineering or infrastructure programs

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • DOE/FEMP certification or equivalent.
  • Prior experience supporting VA or federal healthcare systems.
