Job Summary

MRI Technologist (DRT – MRI)

Position Summary:
Provides diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services to support patient care at VA Long Beach Healthcare System. Responsible for independently operating MRI equipment and performing complex imaging procedures in accordance with VA protocols.

 

Compensation: Starting at 60/hr plus 5.09 for Health and Wellness

 

MRI: Weekday & Weekend Coverage (including holidays)
Shift Hours
Day 6:30am – 5:00pm
Day 8:00am-6:30pm
Evening 12:00pm – 10:30pm
Night 10:15pm – 6:45am

 

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI scanners (1.5T or 3.0T) to perform diagnostic imaging exams
  • Screen, position, and prepare patients for MRI procedures
  • Select appropriate imaging parameters and protocols
  • Administer contrast media under radiologist supervision
  • Maintain MRI safety standards and infection control practices
  • Process and transmit images via PACS systems
  • Document procedures in CPRS and Radiology systems
  • Perform quality assurance and equipment check

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ARRT (R) certification and Advanced ARRT (MR) certification
  • Minimum:
    • 6 months MRI experience with similar equipment OR
    • 1 year MRI experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience with IV placement and contrast injections
  • PACS experience (AGFA preferred)
