Aptive is seeking a Junior Public Relations Specialist to support public relations efforts for a federal client with IT-related communications strategies and services. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting communications campaigns for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and/or in the IT industry.   The Junior Public Relations Specialist will serve as the technical expert in supporting internal and external communications strategy development, planning and execution within the VA. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of local and national media channels and points of contact. The Junior Public Relations Specialist will work with the Senior Public Relations Specialist to develop expert recommendations for the VA Office of Technology's media strategy to reach desired outcomes and help craft messages.   The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem-solver and action-oriented team player. The strategist should have familiarity with new and emerging communications technologies and methodologies and be familiar with best practices in the development of innovative solutions to clients’ marketing challenges. The strategist should be able to think outside the box and creatively to develop the ideal tactics to reach target audiences.   This position requires leading and engaging teams of people with diverse skills to develop comprehensive solutions ranging from specific system needs to full enterprise coverage.
